THERMAL IMAGING DIAGNOSTICS

Thermal Imaging is regarded as the most powerful diagnostic tool available. As a result this will establish the integrity and safety of electrical equipment. Furthermore, this is a non-contact, non-intrusive inspection technique. These images are analysed and placed into our software. Especially noteworthy a report is then generated for your convenience.  In conclusion, this report is simple to interpret and can be handed to a tradesman for the repair work.

Our service is suitable for buildings of any size. And to this end we provide a fast and effective means of identifying potential problems in your electrical and mechanical equipment.

Due to all objects radiating electromagnetic energy, which is invisible to the human eye our thermal imaging cameras allow us to see these invisible thermal signatures. We then measure infrared radiation, producing a heat map that indicates the surface temperatures of each object. This allows us to quickly detect potentially serious faults before they have a chance to develop.

All Thermographers used are minimum Level 1 Certified and Licensed Electricians
The Thermal Imaging equipment used is a Fluke Ti32 (320 x 240) 2010 model
Reporting software is Fluke Smartview 3.1(Latest Version)

Unexpected breakdowns in all types of plant can therefore be prevented well in advance of their becoming apparent, allowing maintenance and repairs to be  scheduled and avoiding downtime.

Our equipment is capable of distinguishing minute differences [in increments of 2 degrees] in thermal radiation, facilitating early detection of a potential problem.

Each of our highly trained engineers can safely record temperature measurements from a distance. This can be completed in any shape or size of premises while ensuring minimal disruption to the running of your business.

REPORTING

We present our findings in an easy-to-understand, comprehensive report. These come complete with heat map images.

Preventive or corrective repairs are noted with priority concerns. Furthermore quantifying the severity of any abnormalities and recommendations.

Our report details the exact area of an identified fault. As a result no time is wasted using elimination processes.

We also comply with all of your particular OH&S procedures.

WHY GET A THERMAL IMAGE SURVEY?

Imagine if your company experienced a critical electrical fault that resulted in a major disruption to your business,. Or worst case scenario caused harm to your employees or the general public.

What would it cost you in downtime, lost revenues, or compensation? These costs could be extensive and potentially difficult to recover from.

Consequently it is an accepted fact that electrical components can breakdown and become faulty over time. However, these faults often go undetected. Often until your electrical systems fail or cause a fire.

Establish your preventive maintenance programme and condition monitoring with Spark Safety Solutions today. Let us help you detect faults prior to damage occurring that could result in loss, downtime or worse.

More Reasons to include Thermal Image Testing in your maintenance schedule:

  • Reduces risk of downtime and protects your equipment – avoids unscheduled shutdowns, damage to equipment and loss of power

  • Virtually eliminates unnecessary repair work and material expenses

  • Reduces the cost of your insurance premiums

  • Prevents catastrophic failures

  • Directs maintenance technicians to the root of the problem

  • Ensures the highest level of performance for all your electrical systems

  • Energy saving – energy not being used for its intended purpose is wasted energy

  • Confirms reliability of your equipment so it can perform as designed

  • Pinpoints trouble spots before a crisis situation occurs, allowing locating of trouble spots and scheduling of repairs and plant shutdowns

  • Helps you avoid staff injuries

  • Non-intrusive or destructive – no contact is necessary

  • Distance & close up Inspections available with the use of various lenses and digital zoom

  • All equipment is self-contained and portable

  • You get real time results with on spot temperature and temperature distribution

  • Digital and thermal images are recorded for post analysis, which can be downloaded into a computer, analysed and pasted into reports

FREQUENCY OF TESTING

We recommend that thermal assessments are conducted annually, however some clients require a 6 monthly or quarterly report. To this end, just tell us your requirements and we will issue reminders and contact you to arrange your next assessment at the appropriate time.

Furthermore, we strongly believe thermal imaging should be included as a critical component of your maintenance prevention plan. In fact, many insurance companies now state it as a requirement.
